Lake St Clair is part of the Great Lakes system which
provides the connection between Lake Huron to the north
and Lake Erie to the south. Lake St. Clair is
responsible for nearly 30% of the sportfishing catch of
the Great Lakes and 50% of all the sportfishing that
takes place in the Great Lakes.
At
the North end of the lake where the St Clair River
empties into Lake St Clair it is the worlds largest
fresh water delta. Lake St Clair has more muskie per
square mile than any other lake, it is estimated that
there are around 50,000 muskie over 30 inches.
